NYJO is honoured to acknowledge a generous legacy gift bequeathed by Anthony Bracegirdle, who believed in the profound and lasting impact of the power of music to open doors for young people.
This transformative support will underpin a new talent development programme launching in 2026, helping emerging musicians pursuing a career in music access high-quality training, creative opportunities, and the networks they need to thrive.
Anthony’s generosity strengthens our commitment to nurturing the next wave of artistic excellence, ensuring his legacy continues to shape the future of young musicians for years to come.
NYJO is committed to introducing young people aged 14–25 to jazz and improvised music, while engaging audiences across the country. We believe deeply in the power of jazz as a tool for social change, a way to foster creativity, confidence, and community, and to create careers that sustain these values. Our new talent development programme will support musicians from all backgrounds to begin their pathways into the world of music and promising careers. Through this legacy gift, we are better equipped than ever to extend those opportunities.
We remain deeply grateful for Anthony Bracegirdle’s vision, generosity, and trust in NYJO’s mission. His legacy will continue to resonate through the music and in our work to support the next generations of young jazz professionals.
