His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Visits NYJO at Ronnie Scott’s for an Unforgettable Evening with Talented NYJO Young Musicians
We were thrilled to welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, a long-standing supporter and patron of the NYJO, to Ronnie Scott’s for a truly special evening of music.

Our 17-piece orchestra, packed with NYJO talent, delivered an incredible set, performing NYJO & Sam Eastmond Present: John Zorn’s MASADA, delivering energetic, punchy horn lines, an epic rhythm section, spectacular solos, which included playing the teapot, and the unmistakable punk-infused energy of Sam Eastmond.

The evening continued with a supporters’ reception at Alfie’s, where The Duke met NYJO Musicians, donors, partners, supporters and friends, whose generosity makes NYJO’s work possible.

Events like this show the impact of our programmes, providing young musicians with performance opportunities at world-class jazz venues and highlighting the crucial role our supporters play in nurturing the current and next generation of jazz talent.

With the support of our donors and members and events like these, NYJO creates unforgettable musical experiences, empowers young musicians, and provides entry points into jazz across the UK.

Our mission is to provide the current and next generations of artists with the guidance, training, and opportunities they need, and to create a music landscape that reflects today’s society. None of this work would be possible without the generosity of our supporters.
