Catch NYJO trombonist Richard Jones in the Crypt at St John’s Smith Square for a tribute to George Roberts. Richard and his band will be performing songs from Roberts’ solo album ‘Meet Mr Roberts’ and The Great American Songbook.

Hailed as ‘Mr Bass Trombone’, Roberts with his truly beautiful sound has been heard on records for over half a century. As a Los Angeles session musician and member of the Stan Kenton Orchestra, his playing can be heard on the records of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald. You can also hear him playing on several motion picture soundtracks including ‘Jaws’ and the music of Henry Mancini.
