The NYJX is made up of some of the UK’s most promising and talented young musicians and composers, each member brings a unique edge to the ensemble. The group has grown together personally and musically during a tumultuous period for creatives around the world, and have been supported throughout by group mentor Orphy Robinson alongside Huw Warren, Adam Saunders, Chris Sharky and Dee Byrne.
The group’s performance at We Out Here will include a series of pieces, each composed by a different member of the group; largely developed during, and influenced by, the nationwide lockdowns of 2020-21. Each piece highlights their unique approaches to composition and their ability to interpret, vibe and improvise to each other’s sound.
Expect an incredibly versatile set ranging from crunchy cello based riffs to wilding modular led fantasies, showcasing a fearless combination of brass, strings, reeds, drums, and electronica.
