Woolwich Works, Greenwich SE18 6HD
A Soundscape Exploration with Cameron Naylor
For young people aged 14 – 18 who are interested in creating their own brand-new sound piece!
Across the 3 days, you will look at ways of listening to the spaces around you, how they affect you, and how we may respond to them artistically. This is a chance to get hands on with microphones, learning techniques for recording the sounds in the world around us, and then creatively working with these sounds to develop a new sound piece responding to the space.
You will be focusing on sounds right through from first hearing, to recording, manipulating, and arranging them in digital software. This project will balance the artistic and the technical; through the production of a new sound piece, you will develop the skills to listen, respond, and create new sonic works from the sounds of the world around you.
Fees to take part in the project are:
1. Free if you are in receipt of Pupil Premium/Free School Meals/from a low-income family in receipt of any form of benefit.
2. £25 if you live or study in the borough of Greenwich.
3. £50 for all other young people.
Please don’t let the cost be a barrier to you coming – we will do our best to reduce the cost for anyone who needs it so please just get in touch.
To take part in this project, please fill in the registration form by no later than Monday 12 May.
If you have any questions relating to the project, feel free to drop us a message at [email protected] and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
