George has been fascinated by jazz music and culture since she joined the University of Southampton where she completed undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Music, followed by a semester abroad at Temple University in Philadelphia. Before joining NYJO in 2022, she worked as a singing teacher for children ages 3 to 17. As a singer, George has performed in the UK and abroad, including at the Montreux Jazz Festival. At NYJO, her role as Artist Liaison means George is responsible for looking after our Emerging Professionals, helping them grow as musicians and supporting them in their creative ambitions and individual journeys. Her passion for making jazz music accessible and inclusive make her a great fit for the role, where she feels lucky to be able to think and talk about jazz every day.
