This April, NYJO is providing the jazz at Lancashire Music Hub‘s Easter Holiday residential for young musicians across the county. A group of Emerging Professionals will join the county’s Youth Symphony Orchestra and Youth Orchestra to run one of the residential’s three days, and introduce classical players to jazz and improvised music.
Like our recent visits to Cardiff and Canterbury, this day is a chance for young musicians coming up through the music education system to be exposed to new musical worlds, and for our own, slightly older musicians to share the inspiration and motivation that has brought them onto their current paths.
- 9.30-12.30: whole group introductory session
- 12.45-1.20: lunchtime jazz gig by Emerging Professionals
- 1:30-3.30: workshop with jazz ensemble players
