Schools & Music Services, Hubs & Educators: Get Involved!

NYJO works with education partners in London and nationally, delivering jazz education in long-standing, year-round partnerships, through our networking opportunities and in shorter, one-off projects.

We’re keen to hear from you, whether you’re looking to bring jazz to young musicians for the first time or expand the scope and reach of existing provision – let us know what interests you, how we can work together and what you think NYJO could bring to the party.

NYJO Jazz Messengers 2022

In July 2022, NYJO Learning embarked on a Greenwich Jazz Messengers Schools’ Tour. Through this tour, we aimed to inspire young people to take up an instrument and encourage them to get involved in extra-curricular music-making.

Animate @ SoundSkool

In collaboration with the Orpheus Foundation, NYJO were thrilled to introduce the Animate Composer Programme in 2021. We know that many young people across the UK are pushing the boundaries of music-making with dynamic, exciting digital music that they are creating within their own homes, but many young composers never get the chance to explore the incredible possibilities of working with live musicians.

NYJO Learning @ We Out Here

We’ll be taking a selection of tubas & euphoniums, kindly donated by Trevor James, along with us to ‘We Out Here’ festival, offering us the chance to give a workshop to festival attendees led by NYJX’s Bassist Fergus Quill. As a Learning department, we are hugely excited by the chance to promote such a unique and special instrument within our community.
